The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has begun a major initiative to improve the way women veterans perceive and receive VA health care, the VA announced today.

Women Veterans Among Fastest Growing Segments of Veteran Population

The VA estimates that by 2020, 10 percent of veterans will be women. In order to better serve this growing population, representatives at the VA's Health Resource Center (HRC) have been reaching out to female veterans across the nation to get their opinions about how the VA can enhance women-specific health care services.

HRC representatives are also offering information on VA health care services for women, including general primary care, mental health care and preventive screenings for breast and cervical cancer.
