In an effort to improve communication with veterans, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is improving and streamlining its online health benefits application form. The form, 10-10EZ, now includes an online chat feature. This feature provides veterans with live, real-time assistance from the VA as they complete the form.
"VA is committed to tapping into the best that technology has to offer to ensure Veterans receive the benefits they have earned," said Secretary of Veterans Affairs Erick Shinseki.
The 10-10EZ contains six areas of information, including employment, military service, personal information, insurance information, and financial assessment. To-date, almost 400,000 veterans have used the online 10-10EZ form to start the health benefits process through the VA.
