On Veterans Day, several restaurants and fast-food chains nationwide are thanking all former and present military members for their service with free or discounted food. Offers range from a free submarine sandwich or donut to a free meal.
To receive the offer, servicemembers should wear their uniform or take some form of military identification with them to the restaurant--a U.S. Uniform Service card, a current leave and earnings statement, a DD 214 discharge form, or American Legion or VFW membership card.
Participating restaurants include Applebee's, Chili's, Golden Corral, Hooters, Krispy Kreme, McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants, Outback Steakhouse, Subway, Texas Roadhouse, T.G.I. Friday's and Uno Chicago Grill. Officials recommended calling the restaurant in advance or checking its website to verify it does in fact have a Veterans Day special.
For a detailed list of the offer at each place, see the press release.
