Colleges Near Travis Air Force
Located in Fairfield, California, between Sacramento and San Francisco, Travis Air Force Base boasts a work force of 15,000 servicemembers. Host to the 60th Air Mobility Wing, the base is known as the "Gateway to the Pacific," handling more cargo and passengers than any other air terminal in the United States. It was named in honor of Brigadier General Robert F. Travis who was killed in a B-29 crash. The David Grant USAF Medical Center is also on the base campus.
