Colleges Near Tobyhanna Army Depot
Located in northeastern Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains, twenty miles southeast of Scranton--population, 72,485--life moves just a little slower here. Originally starting out in 1912 as an artillery training camp, Tobyhanna has since evolved into the Army's premier electronics maintenance facility. Sitting on 1,296 acres, the hub of activity is in the 398-acre industrial complex where 5,600 civilian and military workers design, manufacture, repair and overhaul hundreds of electronic systems for the Department of Defense. Much of the rest of installation is preserved as wetlands.
