Founded in 1930, Randolph Air Force Base in Universal City, Texas, population 18,150, now hosts the 12th Flying Training Wing as well as the following headquarters: Air Education and Training Command, the 19th Air Force, and the Air Force Personnel Center and Recruiting Services. At Randolph Air Force Base, the mission is to train pilots and provide air transportation and emergency airlift. The base supports some 10,000 civilian and military personnel and the C-21A Learjets.
