At the height of the Cold War, a steel command center was built deep into Colorado Spring's Cheyenne Mountain to house the technology and personnel necessary to track enemy missiles and vehicles. Today, at Peterson Air Force Base, you would be a fundamental part in the defense not only of North America's airspace, but also of cyberspace. The Colorado Springs base is home to the 21st Space Wing, the U.S. Northern Command, and the North American Aerospace Defense Command. Some 46,000 people compose the Air Force Space Command, also headquartered at Peterson AFB.
