Naval Station Ingleside was, until early in 2010, a small Naval base in Ingleside, Texase, on the north side of Corpus Christi Bay, across from the city of Corpus Christi. Since the base's closure in April of 2010, the Navy's presence in Corpus Christi has more concentrated in Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, which remains a vital and active base in the area. NAS Corpus Christi is one of the most important locations for helicopter pilot training and training in helicopter minesweeping operations, and is also home to the Corpus Christi Army Depot, the world's largest helicopter repair facility. Servicemembers stationed in the Corpus Christy area are sure to enjoy the variety of art museums, parks, beaches and shopping malls filling the area.
