About seventy miles southwest of Charleston, South Carolina, you can find MCAS Beaufort, a 6,900-acre installation. Nicknamed Fightertown East, the air station is home base for seven Marine Corps F/A-18 and two Navy F/A-18 squadrons. The facility's mission is to ensure that the 3,400 members of Marine Air Group 31 and its components are readily deployable.
