Fort Dix is located in Northeastern New Jersey. As of the 2000 census, its population was 7,464. On October 1, 2009, Fort Dix became an official part of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, which expanded the Fort Dix education, recreation, and training opportunities.
