DANTES Subject Standardized Tests ("DSST")

The DSSTs are also DANTES-funded tests that give college credit by passing exams. This program is very similar to CLEP, but it is open only to members of the military. Again, there is a wide range of subjects that are covered by DSSTs.

There are currently over 35 examinations available in different subject areas. The examinations mimic final exam tests in college courses. Now, many of the DSST examinations are available at national test centers.

Like CLEPs, the DSST's test the knowledge you have gained through your work and life experiences. Also like CLEPs, they can give you college credit at thousands of accredited colleges.
