Get College Credits for What You Already Know!
The Department of Defense has set up a way for active duty and retired military to earn college credit based on their life experiences. Welcome to DANTES!
DANTES stands for Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support.
What does it mean for you? It means that you can get credits towards a degree for the work you have done in the military.
It is designed to help you earn a degree or certificate while you are serving in the military.
These examinations are designed to test your knowledge in college related areas, based upon what you have learned OUTSIDE of the classroom.
That is right - college credit for working, living, and enjoying life.
How do you get the credits? You take free exams administered by the Military.
There are three kinds of tests; College Level Examination Program ("CLEP"), DANTES Subject Standardized Tests ("DSST"),
