Question:
I can’t get in touch with anyone! I have been calling several times a day for months and I never get an answer. How can I speak to someone? — Tiffany

Answer:
Hi Tiffany.  I’m going to give you four ways to contact the VA about your GI Bill education question:

  • by asking a question;
  • calling them;
  • contacting one of the VA Regional Offices;
  • contacting one of the VA State Offices.

You can either search for a question simliar to yours and read the answer, or if you don’t find your question, you can ask the question yourself. On the Answers Tab, enter in a Keyword or Phrase and click on Search.  If you can’t find what you are looking for there, click on the Ask A Question Tab and input your question.

I don’t know what phone number your are using, but their main GI Bill Education phone number is  1-888-442-4551.  They accept calls Monday through Wednesday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Central Standard Time.  Maybe you have been using the wrong phone number, or have been calling on the wrong day or at the wrong time. Even calling on the correct day and time, you can still expect long on-hold times, so be prepared by allocating lots of time.

Many veterans have better luck contactting their VA Regional Office servicing their state. Typically, these are smaller offices and you can usually contact someone quicker.

One more source that may be able to help you are the State Veterans Affairs Offices. Almost every state has one and they are good sources to try.
